Duties:
• Squad leader at Coney Island Beach Command centre: As a squad leader, I had to delegate deployment protocols to static and mobile units throughout the entire beach, assist and deliver supplies to city personnel, radio reports to central communications (the status of beach safety and activities.)
• Patrol and secure Parks Dept. property and interests: As a Parks Enforcement Patrol officer, my primary purpose was to engage patrons and staff as an ambassador of the Parks Dept. (at beaches, recreational centers, parks or properties owned by the Parks Department). My secondary purpose was to secure the area of deployment from incident and enforce Parks Dept. rules and regulations.
• Manage crowd control: The Parks Dept. serves as host to many venues throughout NYC. These events include but are not limited to: The U.S. Open, The NYC Marathon, Parades, Fundraisers, Concerts, etc. My job was to serve as a visible presence, aid personnel and keep the general public behind police barriers at these events.
